Brent Bozell writes a scathing analysis of Hollywood’s defense of Roman Polanski
“Polanski was always mystified that anyone cared about his hideous, felonious behavior. He thought everyone wanted to do what he did, as he proclaimed in an interview with novelist Martin Amis in 1979: “If I had killed somebody, it wouldn’t have had so much appeal to the press, you see? But … f—ing, you see, and the young girls. Judges want to f— young girls. Juries want to f— young girls. Everyone wants to f— young girls!”
But as more than one Catholic leader has observed, what if his name were Father Roman Polanski? Oh, then they’d all be singing a different tune, wouldn’t they? Hypocrites.
Speaking of sex, there is a Ginormous Scandal at CBS: A longtime CBS News producer has been indicted for allegedly attempting to blackmail David Letterman for $2 million cuz he had proof that Letterman has been boffing the girls on his staff. You know, like assistants. People he has authority over. One of them has a son by Mr. Late Night.
Letterman admitted publicly, “I have had sex with women who work for me on this show. … Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Yes, it would, especially for the women.”
Wow. Isn’t that just so PC sensitive? It would be embarrassing for THE WOMEN HE USED and who, according to the standard definition of sexual abuse, HE ABUSED.
A person who is in a subservient position cannot give consent for sex. If any of the people in Column A have a sexual relationship with the people in Column B, the relationship is BY DEFINITION abusive. Period.
Column A to Column B
Minister to Congregant.
Therapist to Counsellee.
Lawyer to Client.
Teacher to Student.
Officer to NCO.
Parent to Child.
Adult to Minor.
Boss to Employee.
Clearly, Dave doesn’t understand any of this. But why would we expect him to. Last June, he scored cheap laughs making a crude joke about a baseball player raping Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter. In his pseudo “apology”, he said he hadn’t been referring to the Palin’s 14-year old but to their older daughter, the one who got knocked up by her high school boyfriend.
Note to Dave: Sex between same age teens isn’t abuse. Rape is abuse. So is banging women in your office who are (a) Too wowed by your big name star appeal and (b) Too dependent on your approval for their careers to give consent.
