PA GOP Marching Towards Election Day

With Election Day, November 3rd, just under one month away, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania is continuing to gain the momentum we need to deliver victories for Supreme Court Judge Joan Orie Melvin and the other qualified and experienced judicial candidates. Last week, Republican candidate Bob Mensch scored a decisive 36-point victory in the 24th state Senatorial District special election.

This impressive win marks the third straight special election victory for Republicans in our Commonwealth and further proves that the Republican principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility are resonating. In March, state Representative Dave Argall secured a strong victory in an election to replace the late state Senator Jim Rhodes, garnering an amazing 62% of the vote. Just a few short months later, Jerry Knowles handily won a the 124th state House District to becoming our Commonwealth’s newest Representative.

The fact that these victories occurred within the last six months signal that we’re seeing a steady trend of support from voters, Republicans, Independents and even Democrats, who’ve been badly burned by the tax-and-spend policies of President Barack Obama and the Democrats in both Washington and Harrisburg. Pennsylvanians want responsible government, and the massive victories that they have delivered to our candidates’ shows that they understand that the Republican Party and our candidates are committed to putting the hardworking families of this Commonwealth first.

That being said, principles alone do not deliver victories, and I would like to take an opportunity to acknowledge our strong grassroots network of committed Republican volunteers. Throughout the year, and in different regions of the Commonwealth, these hard-working men and women knocked on doors, handed out literature and called their friends and neighbors asking them to support our qualified candidates. Our Party has the best grassroots network in Pennsylvania, and I am confident that their tireless dedication will result in the elections of Supreme Court candidate Judge Joan Orie Melvin, Superior Court candidate Judge Judy Olson, Sallie Mundy, Temp Smith and Judge Paula Ott, and Commonwealth Court candidate Judge Patricia McCullough and Kevin Brobson this November 3rd.
